Lewis dot arrangement in the case of NH3 is illustrated by the valence electrons surrounding the N atom. The dot point arrangement in the case of NH3 reveals that the nitrogen atom joins one pair of e- with each of the three H atoms, resulting in a total of a trio united pairs of electrons. The NH3 molecule takes a three-sided pyramid-like shape attributed to the arrangement of the outer electrons according to its Lewis Beverage cup structure. In the Lewis dotpoint representation of ammonia, the nitrogen atom is enveloped by three dots, each representing a pair of united electrons with a hydrogen atom.
